there is a renewing act of reading. each page turned presents the possibility for something new and in sharing stories through thoughtful exchange we are circulating ideas, reflections and thoughts which could have the possibility to inspire something new in someone else. this is the beauty of connection and human exchange. here, we use books as the vehicle to drive this narrative.

reading with new eyes is a book club founded by otràvie.

honoring the principle belief that life is a cycle of opportunities for renewal, with reading being one of them.

  • we gather

on a monthly basis at VN residency in a curated experience. we crave inspiring environments filled with like-minded individuals where we can share and connect in a meaningful way. this supports an important part of our experience in the world. we make the time to come together for an experience that has the potential to let us feel seen and understood.

  • we read

at our own pace, at our own time month to month. what we choose to read is our own choice. we are guided to read what we feel called to read. maybe it’s something a friend recommended, or maybe it’s a preloved book gifted to us, or maybe it’s something we’ve already read before but want to take time to discover things that we once missed. whatever it is, we are invested in it and eager to share what we would like to share with others about the story.

  • we exchange

with active and attentive listening and open dialog. we hear what other’s would like to share about what they’re reading. perhaps we draw our own conclusions, perhaps our interest is sparked to read the same story- to read it anew with our own interpretations. and hopefully we are inspired to share words and reflections of what we are currently reading ourselves. we also exchange preloved books to keep things circulating.

  • we are

from all walks of life and all have our own stories to tell. we love to read or would love to make reading more of an active practice in our lives. through the act of sharing and exchanging the stories we are reading, we can also gain a unique perspective of one another and the stories we each carry with us.

we are mindful about the things, places and spaces we invest our energy into. it’s worthwhile for us to invest into human connections that feel good and safe. something to give, something to gain. circularity in all things.
